Where do the weekends go?

Saturday we shot a wedding in Denton. Friday night we had a fun drive (with the rest of Dallas) up to Denton to attend the rehearsal. I spent most of Sunday lying down, sick. I had a whole list of things I wanted to do – and they’re still waiting for me to do them. I still don’t feel so good.

Work is one of those neccessary evils. I started thinking about what I could do with my time if I didn’t have to spend most of it at my 40-hour a week day job. (Also, of course, if I could fund myself on no income.)

I think I would…read a lot. I checked a book out of the library 2 months ago and will be returning it as soon as I figure out where I put it this morning. No I didn’t get past the 3rd chapter.

play the piano every day. Maybe learn more than the 3 songs I know.spend tons of time outside. I think I need more sun to function than the average person does.

actually work on the yard/”gardens.” They’re not looking so good. I had such grand visions for them when we moved in.

do lots of puzzles. I love puzzles. I do one or 2 a year – at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. They keep your brain sharp, or something. I could use that.

cook more real meals. I like cooking. I love the smell of garlic and onions and tomatoes cooking, and all the fresh ingredients that can go into a meal.

swim. I love to swim. If I had an indoor pool in my house, I’d be in it every day.

take more pictures. Pictures for me. Pictures I have time to play with.

help people. Volunteer somewhere. Do something. Really make a difference in the world. Be a part of something much bigger than myself.

travel. See the whole world. Of course this one’s pretty much impossible with no income. But, since I’m dreaming. Travel.

I’m sure there’s tons more. But these come to mind first.
