Crispy decided that it might be fun to eat lunch in the Space Needle. Other than feeling sick from moving while eating and riding the crazy elevator down, it was pretty awesome.

This photo was actually taken after lunch, but I’m going to post it first, so you can see how high up we were.

This is what the view looked like when we first got up to the top:

You sit on the part that spins around and the wall next to you doesn’t move. Kathleen is actually slowing moving backwards:

It was really cool to watch the fog burn off as we spun around the city:

The food was really really really yum. My mouth is watering just thinking about it…

Even the butter looked pretty:

Kathleen says “stop taking my freaking picture so I can eat my sandwich:”

People put notes on the ledge so there was always something new to read. First, stating the obvious:

Something a little more clever, I guess:

We never found out if we won or not:

Ah, everyone’s favorite city…Hawaii:

The sky getting clearer and bright blue:

Afterward we went out to the observation deck to look around Seattle. We took our photo in the reflection and suddenly everyone around us was going “that’s the coolest thing ever!” and doing the same thing. It was really weird.

Beware of the Fremont Troll. He eats people.

Auto-correct is funny:

Fun times.

I was torn between posting the pictures from my Seattle/Washington trip and the pictures from my New England/Fall trip. In the end Seattle won, partly because it happened first, but mostly because I forgot I already did the majority of the editing a couple of months ago. I’m going to post them somewhat out of order, and possibly backwards. I haven’t totally decided yet.

Here is one of my favorite views of Seattle:

And here are a few from further down Alki Beach, a little bit earlier:

I’m going to do my best to get them all up before the end of the year so I can move on to New England photos.

My last full day in Seattle was full of too many pictures for one post, so I’m splitting them into 2. After our first trip to Pike Place (the market where they throw fish) I realized I’d only taken about 5 pictures, so we went back to take more. Here are most of them – because unlike most times I take pictures where only a few turn out good, the market is so full of colors and wildly interesting items that it’s hard to take a bad picture. So here are several.

the snippy lady at this booth told me if I bought the shirt it would last longer…um, no, see, shirts wear out…and digital pictures last as long as you want them to. jerk. also, do I look like an old tourist lady that would wear a t-shirt with a city name on it?

this guy was actually playing the guitar…

these were actually on the sidewalk as we were driving up the big hill:

the flower crispy bought, in her car:

The set is here if you’d like to see any of the pictures bigger. I don’t have the time or, more importantly, patience to put all the links in.

I REALLY want the flu. It is so cute:

Today we took the bus downtown and went to the Space Needle:

My sister moved to the area recently so we got to hang out with her crazy self:

I’m in Seattle at the moment, visiting my wonderful friend Crispy. I watched the sun rise at the airport and am a little fuzzy at the moment (and all day).

We went to the Arboretum:
