We spent Christmas in Amarillo this year.

I promise the Mexico pictures are coming, Crispy.

Too many cameras!!

Darek’s Christmas morning hair:

Velcro loves to torture Dad by trying to be friends:

Janaye hates Christmas.

Or just tomato vampires.

I have this picture from every family gathering.

Phase 2 will be the Egg segment of the day.

Ah…for a relaxing vacation, the all-inclusive resort is the way to go. We spent our days lying on the beach, soaking up the sun while enjoying a cool breeze. We went for walks on the beach. We swam. We read books. We ate lots of yummy food. We were brought drinks on the beach.

It was wonderful.

Here is Day 1.

Watching the sun rise at the airport:

First sight of the Yucatan Peninsula:

Me looking at the water:

This sign was in the bathroom at the Cancun airport. DO NOT THROW HOT DOGS IN THE TOILET.

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at the resort, so we went and had lunch. In our jeans, sneakers, and long-sleeves. Not a great idea. Although lunch was FANTASTIC.

Quesadillas! Yum!

Margaitas! Double yum!

Our room still wasn’t ready, so we got some clothes from our luggage, changed, and had drinks by the pool:

Hey, is that an igloo behind Darek?

And our room was finally ready!

Love the fridge access.

The resort had 7 restaurants for us to choose from. We went to the Italian restaurant the first night. This is a terrible picture of my yummy salmon with incredible mashed potatoes:

And this is my yummy apple tart with cinnamon ice cream next to Darek’s amazing tiramisu.

Day 1 = Success.

Going to Mexico!

Countdown begins

December 1st, 2008

Countdown to Mexico: 5 DAYS!!!

Yep that’s right, in 5 days I’ll be in Mexico, beginning a 6-day trip mourning my 30th birthday. All-inclusive resort on the beach, here we come!!

Although the day after my birthday could be a rough one, as we’ll be traveling back to the States.

Just cross your fingers that our resort is actually open when we get there, as it was shut down by the government 2 months ago and just reopened 2 weeks ago.

Should be fun.

We’ll be staying about 5 minutes away from this place:

In other news, I’ll be buying a car tomorrow.

Unless the bank doesn’t hurry it up and transfer my money. Punks.

Big week.
