For the past several years I’ve been wanting to take a road trip up to New England in the Fall to see the foliage and visit all of our amazingly wonderful friends that still live up there. I spent the first 7 years of my life in Massachusetts and lived in Connecticut for most of my high school years and I hadn’t seen a New England Autumn since 1996. Since fall is a busy time for my photography business, I just haven’t been able to make the trip even though I desperately wanted to. But this year we said “screw it; we’re going.”

And we did.

It was a whirlwind trip because Darek ended up starting a new job right before our trip and he couldn’t take off as much time as we had planned. So instead of driving, we flew, which I hate, and we only had a couple of days up there. But, we did go, and it was totally awesome.

We visited my friend Jaime and her son Michael in Connecticut first. One thing I really wanted to do was go apple picking, so we all went to Lyman Orchards, where we used to go when I was in high school. But first we went through the corn maze there.

Proof that we bought tickets:

CORN! Just to warn you, I may have gotten a little carried away with photos of the corn…

But it looked so cool!

Darek loves to have his photo taken. Just don’t get your hopes up for a “normal” smile or anything:

A rare photo of the two of us:

Corn with foliage in the background! And check out that blue sky:

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the corn…groan, how corny is that? HA HA HA:

Yes, I’m a city girl. I find corn exciting:

And strangely beautiful:

We tried to explain this to Michael, but no one really knew where to begin:

Trying to find our way out of the maze:

We did it!

We survived the maze:

Darek takes a minute to mourn those who did not:

Seriously, life just doesn’t get much more exciting that corn mazes, amiright?
