Yesterday I even put a little bit of effort into my picture of the day. Shocking, I know, considering the state of my previous shots.

january 28: painting with light

The subject matter isn’t terribly interesting, but the execution (in my opinion) is. I set the camera for a 20 second exposure at iso200 with an f-stop of 8.0 and walked around, with my back to the camera, with a flashlight. I shined it on the guitar, across the piano keyboard, back on the guitar, and a little behind the guitar for a bit of backlighting and depth.

Not an original idea, of course, but a fun one to play with.

Boo for winter.

Received a client’s 24×30 print in the mail today and the corner was mangled. Why.
Feeling miserably, desperately uncreative, uninspired, un-good-picture-taking-abled.

Haven’t done portraits in 2 weeks, a wedding in 6. I miss them, even considering all the personal time I suddenly have.

I’m not a winter person. I hate to leave the house. I’d like to stay in bed all winter. But I’ve made it further than last month in terms of daily pictures.
day 7: a second attempt at the leaves

day 9: Christmas decorations at the Gaylord (yes we were there 2 separate days and yes the tree was really that color)

day 12: I skipped my birthday and day after but shot a plant on the 12th

day 13: every year we get one new ornament, and eeyore is the newest addition – and a reminder that I really need a macro lens

day 15: i missed friday but saturday we took down our bathroom mirror and found the original wallpaper
