january 5-11

January 12th, 2009

So far today I have gotten my car washed (I haven’t gotten a car wash in 6 years), done some laundry, put critter ridder around the tree that animals like to eat, priced dirt, learned how many cubic feet are in a cubic yard (27?!?!), worked on some pictures, done some other random stuff…

I need to work on some business-type stuff, but this is just more fun.

So I’m taking a break from posting mexico pictures to catch up with my pictures-of-the-day.

january 5: we got ice (i took this picture through the window because BRRRR)

january 6: we’ve had these peanuts at our house for 2 months….what’s the shelf life on peanuts?

january 7: willow in the window

january 8: a tomato

january 9: avocados (on sale at sprouts: 3 for a dollar! bargain.)

january 10: we made a last-minute trip to wichita falls to meet up with mom & a sister to visit Martha. this was outside of our hotel window

january 11: apples

I have some new recipes to blog, but I’ll leave you with these for now.

january 4: the balloons that survived

It was unbelievably gorgeous today. Warm, sunny, not too hot, fabulous breeze, the air smelled good…we had our windows open all day and the temperature was perfect. We cleaned out the garage, raked and de-dead-tomatofied the backyard, went for a walk, made pizza for dinner, and soaked up the perfection.

One of the 5 annual nice days in Texas.

People who don’t spend their weekends working will never understand the joy of doing yard work on a Saturday.

Wonderful.

January 2: Candy in cups

January 3: Enjoying the backyard

So here we go again. Last year I did pretty well on my picture-a-day for about 6 months, then dropped it when wedding season got crazy. I’m hoping I do better in 2009.

I thought this was a good one for a new beginning…new year, new life…that sort of thing.

January 1: The bulbs are working their way up
